A Message from the Principal
What causes you to feel satisfied? Do you feel satisfied after decorating a well-organized school room? Are you satisfied when the "perfect" curriculum is delivered to your doorstep? After enjoying coffee with a friend, do you leave the café feeling satisfied? Does turning in masterful lesson plans to your coordinator evoke a feeling of satisfaction?
The Lord has challenged me all summer with the word "satisfy." Stepping into the role of the Homeschool Principal, I faced immediate temptations in which to find satisfaction: a clean email inbox, an orderly desk, returned phone calls, completed projects, successful meetings, desired approval from families and administration.
However, the satisfaction that comes from a clean desk or masterful lesson plans is like eating a Chinese meal...after a little while, you find yourself hungry and looking to be satisfied again. In His grace and gentleness, God has encouraged me to find my complete and sole satisfaction in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is His approval of me, His direction in my life, and His provision for every need which will provide true and lasting satisfaction.
In Psalm 90:14-17 the psalmist cries to the Lord, "Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble. May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendor to their children. May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands."
As you home school your children for the 2011-2012 academic year, my earnest prayer for you and your family is that your SOLE satisfaction be found in God's overwhelming love for you! I pray for God's favor on you and that He would establish the work of your hands as you train and teach your children! I can't wait to see how God is going to work this year!
Love & Blessings,
Tara Lee
